GlobeNet provides high speed Internet to Cinemateca del Caribe

Enhanced connectivity will promote film and audio-visual arts education throughout Colombia

GlobeNet supports the work of the Cinemateca del Caribe (Cinemateca). A non-profit institution, Cinemateca works to strengthen the culture of Barranquilla, the Atlantic and the entire Colombian-Caribbean region through permanent exhibition of the best of universal cinema and the development of training activities for film-audiovisual literacy.
As network connectivity leader in the region, Globenet will provide access, greater speed and network reliability for Cinemateca’s outreach and film education efforts throughout Colombia.  We will leverage our international connectivity services and data center resources ideally situated in Barranquilla, without cost to Cinemateca.
“This is much more than simply providing free access to GlobeNet’s connectivity and data center services,” says Eduardo Falzoni, CEO of GlobeNet. “This is about lifting up and strengthening the culture of the region. It’s about art, education, film legacy and ultimately about the people. GlobeNet has always felt a strong social responsibility to the regions in which we operate and to the businesses that operate alongside us. We look forward to provide the best access and networking solutions available and to supporting the brilliant work being done by our friends at Cinemateca.”
For the last 32 years, Cinemateca del Caribe has been stimulating the knowledge of film and audiovisual methods as an artistic phenomenon and communicative tool. It collaborates with schools and universities to foster educational and recreational programs that encourage engagement with cinematography from a cultural perspective.
