Provider of voice, data and broadband internet access in Brazil

Access to the US via GlobeNet’s robust, scalable and secure Wavelength connectivity.

Our customer is a provider of voice, data and broadband Internet access for government agencies, telecommunications operators and enterprises in Brazil.

The Challenge

Our customer was looking for a network solutions provider that could help the company connect to a Network Access Point (NAP) in Miami, FL in order to expand its services and provide critical entry to US-based networks and peering. This would help them more thoroughly meet the needs of its current international customers as well as market its services to future customers in need of connectivity to the United States. The connection is the first international connection from the customer to the United States. The challenge was to find a provider that had both the network and the services to get the job done quickly and that could provide the post-sales support to keep the connection secure and running smoothly.
After an exhaustive search, our customer chose GlobeNet as its international connectivity and network virtualization partner. Moreover, they were particularly impressed with GlobeNet’s SLA guarantees, technician experience, overall network performance and customer service.

The Solution

To meet the provider’s international connectivity challenge, GlobeNet provided 1x10Gbps Wavelength service between its Rio Cable Landing Station (CLS) and its Miami, Florida based Network Access Point and virtualized router.
GlobeNet’s Wavelength services are specifically designed for organizations experiencing significant increases in their data volumes. The service provides dedicated bandwidth at 10Gbps and 100Gbps to all key destinations in Brazil, Bermuda, Colombia, Venezuela, and the USA. This high-speed, transparent, point-to-point connectivity is based on Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology, which more than met the customer’s key considerations.
GlobeNet provided them a direct, low latency route in the Americas with its ultra-low latency, state-of-the-art submarine dual ring cable system that delivers 99.99% uptime reliability directly to the NAP in Miami.
Moreover, GlobeNet’s virtualization offering supports their network expansion and enhancement by providing connection at critical Points of Presence (PoPs) in the Americas. The PoPs include New York and Miami in the United States, as well as Sao Paulo, Brazil; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Bogota, Colombia; and Caracas, Venezuela.
GlobeNet’s virtualization service offers network infrastructure with virtual routers located in Miami and New York allowing the customer to aggregate its international capacity and manage its own connections to peering fabrics. The routers are intended to be an integral part of their networks for the delivery of their service offerings.
Key Features of GlobeNet’s Virtualization include:
  • Customer managed network architecture and capacity upgrades
  • Provides customers with basic engineering services, management of peering connections and other NOC services while proactively monitoring the network
  • Scalable capacity
